    • PURPOSE: Provided is a method for manufacturing fuel tank liners of compressed natural gas vehicles by using the resin composition containing nano-sized clay, montmorillonite. The resultant plastic liners have high gas barrier property, dimensional stability and mechanical property. CONSTITUTION: The synthetic resin composition is prepared by mixing 1-30pts.wt. of master batch, which is obtained from mixing 100pts.wt. of maleic anhydride grafted high density polyethylene and 5-50pts.wt. of montmorillonite, with 70-99 pts.wt. of thermal plastic resin such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, and polystyrene resin. The maleic anhydride grafted high density polyethylene is obtained by melt graft reaction of 100pts.wt. of thermal plastic resin and 0.5-15pts.wt. of maleic anhydride. The montmorillonite particles with a size more than 300mesh is obtained by stirring montmorillonite in an aqueous solution containing HCl and amine oligomer, £NH3-(CH2)n-1-(COOH)n, n=12-20|, freeze drying precipitates and grinding. Also, the synthetic resin liner is manufactured by the following steps of: producing side parts(1,2) of the liner by injection molding the resin composition, where a boss(4), treated with plasma, coated with adhesives and heated to 70-90deg.C, for gas inlet is inserted in the mold; producing a main part(3) of the liner by extrusion forming into cylindrical tubes; melt bonding by melting the ends of side and main parts, and compressing.
