    • PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of alpha-methylstyrene is provided to increase productivity of alpha-methylstyrene in phenol plant by converting concentrated cumene hydroperoxide to cumyl alcohol through hydrogenation process. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of alpha-methylstyrene comprises the following steps: a step of manufacturing cumene hydroperoxide stream by oxidizing cumene; a step of manufacturing cumyl alcohol by separating part of the cumene hydroperoxide stream; a step of concentrating the cumene hydroperoxide stream; a step of selectively hydrogenizing under jewelry catalyst; and a step of manufacturing product including alpha-methylstyrene by dehydrating the reactant including cumyl alcohol under acid catalyst.

    • PURPOSE: A carbon monoxide remover is provided to heat a catalyst layer without an electric heater, and to cool the heat generated from the catalyst layer. CONSTITUTION: A carbon monoxide remover comprises: a mixed gas pipe(100) in which a mixed gas inlet(102) is formed in the bottom; a catalyst layer(200), which is installed on the outside of the mixed gas pipe, on a flow channel in which mixed gas flows from top to bottom; and a wall(350) between the mixed gas pipe and the catalyst layer. The wall separates a first heat exchange channel(300a) for heat exchanging of a heat exchange medium, with the catalyst layer, and a second heat exchange channel(300b) for heat exchanging of the heat exchange medium, with the mixed gas.
