    • PURPOSE: A method of fabricating a surface mount type polymer fuse for shielding over-current and a polymer fuse thereby are provided to connect electrically conductive layers to each other by using a conductive paste. CONSTITUTION: A PTC(Positive Temperature Coefficient) sheet is formed by depositing a first and a second conductive layer(20,30) on both sides of a conductive complex body. A plurality of through-holes are formed in a predetermined interval on the PTC sheet. A plurality of non-conductive gaps(50) are formed on the first and the second conductive layers. An insulating material(60) is coated on the non-conductive gaps. A conductive paste(70) is printed on an edge of the through-hole of the first conductive layer. The first conductive layer is electrically connected to the second conductive layer by inserting the conductive paste into the through-hole of the second conductive layer. A plurality of polymer fuses are formed by dividing the PTC sheet.

    • PURPOSE: A PTC(Positive Temperature Coefficient) device having superior resistance compensation property and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve resistance compensation property by attaching a copper film to a PTC composite resin body and coupling a lead wire to the copper-film-attached PTC composite resin body to complete a trip process. CONSTITUTION: A polymer resin is made of a low melting resin of 70wt%, a middle melting resin of 15wt%, and a high melting resin of 15wt%. A PTC composite resin is mixed by adding a carbon black of 95wt%, a crosslink agent of 0.5wt%, an addition agent of 1wt%, and a polyethylene wax to the polymer resin of 100 weight(S100). The PTC composite resin is pressed to be formed in a sheet shape at a temperature of 135°C by an extruder(S200). A copper film is laminated on both surfaces of the sheet-type PTC composite resin(S300). The laminated PTC composite resin is pressed by a press during 45 minute to form a body(S400). A nickle lead is attached on both sides of the body through a solder cream(S500). After tripping the body by applying power during 5 seconds, the body is cooled to form the PTC device(S600).
