    • The present invention relates to a heat exchanger and a manufacturing method thereof. In one embodiment of the present invention, a tube is inserted into a through-hole formed in a fin coated with a filler metal, the tube is expanded by an expanding ball, and the tube and the fin are joined to each other by the filler metal through brazing processing. The tube is made of aluminum, and a gap between the outer peripheral surface of the tube prior to expansion and the inner peripheral surface of a collar of the fin is equal to or more than 0.1 mm. The tube is expanded such that the gap between the outer peripheral surface of the tube and the inner peripheral surface of the collar is equal to or less than 0.1 mm. Therefore, it is possible to reduce contact resistance when a fin-tube heat exchanger is manufactured by a mechanical tube expansion method. Also, the deformation of a groove machined on the inner portion of the tube is reduced, thereby improving the heat transfer performance of the heat exchanger.
