A strain gauge(157) is installed in a spring(156) to directly measure thrust supplied to a first movable sheave and buffer momentary shock.

CONSTITUTION: A thrust force compensating device is composed of a fixed sheave shaft(300) combined with a fixed sheave(304) of a secondary pulley; a torque cam(310) combined with the fixed sheave shaft and interlocked according to fluctuation of torque transmitted to the fixed sheave shaft to generate thrust force; and a torque cam piston(320) combined with the fixed sheave shaft faced to the torque cam to compensate thrust force according to fluctuation of torque of the fixed sheave shaft by transmitting thrust force from the torque cam and hydraulic pressure from a hydraulic supply circuit to a movable sheave(302). Slip of a belt is reduced by automatically adjusting thrust force according to peak torque from external impact, and power transmission efficiency is increased by decreasing loss of engine torque.
