    • A hydrogen generator is provided to generate easily hydrogen using sodium hydroxide of a low concentration, easily store generated hydrogen and reduce the preparation cost, and a fuel cell is provided to handle and use the fuel cell conveniently and generate electricity using hydrogen that is stably generated at a room temperature without generating carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide. A hydrogen generator(1) comprises: a tank(10) filled with a predetermined quantity of water; a first reactor(20) containing an aluminum powder that generates alumina and hydrogen by a first reaction with water supplied from the tank; a second reactor(30) containing an alkali solution that generates sodium aluminate and water by a second reaction with alumina supplied from the first reactor; and a circulation part(40) that circulates the alkali solution of the second reactor to the first reactor. A fuel cell comprises: a tank filled with a predetermined quantity of water; a first reactor containing an aluminum powder that generates alumina and hydrogen by a first reaction with water supplied from the tank; a second reactor containing an alkali solution that generates sodium aluminate and water by a second reaction with alumina supplied from the first reactor; a circulation part that circulates the alkali solution of the second reactor to the first reactor; and an electricity generating part that generates electricity by receiving hydrogen from the second reactor.

    • The invention relates to a device and method for purification of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine (10), with an exhaust system (12), comprising a NOx-catalyst (14) and a reducing agent introduction device (16), embodied to introduce reducing agent into the exhaust system (12) before the NOx-catalyst (14). According to the invention, the reducing agent introduction device (16) comprises a reformer (18), embodied to convert the exhaust gas exiting the internal combustion engine (10) and fuel into a reformate serving as a reducing agent. The invention further relates to a method for purification of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine (10), in which a reducing agent is supplied to a NOx-catalyst (14) in an exhaust system (12), whereby reformate generated by a reformer (18) is used as reducing agent and the reformer (18) generates the reformate from exhaust gas exiting the internal combustion engine (10) and fuel.
