    • PURPOSE: A fuel reformer is provided to enhance mixing characteristic of raw materials and to uniformly supply raw materials to a catalyst layer by uniformly distributing the mixed raw materials in the columnar direction. CONSTITUTION: A fuel reformer comprises a first cylindrical body (10), a second cylindrical body (20), a third cylindrical body (30), a steam reforming reaction part, and a raw material introduction portion. The first, second and third cylindrical body are concentrically arranges and the diameters are gradually enlarged. The first cylindrical body forms a combustion chamber. The steam reforming reaction part is formed in an intervening space between the second and third cylindrical bodies, and a reaction in which hydrocarbon is reformed to hydrogen by reacting with steam. The raw material introduction portion is connected from the side of the third cylindrical body to the third cylindrical body in the tangential direction. The raw material mixture which includes hydrocarbon is introduced to the raw material introduction portion.

    • PURPOSE: A reform method of fuel for steam reforming is provided to increase thermal efficiency according to optimal use of external heat flux by actively controlling the external heat flux. CONSTITUTION: A reform method of fuel for steam reforming comprises the following steps: manufacturing hydrogen by providing external heat flux to a tube(100) in which active catalysts(110) are filled; controlling supply pattern of the external heat flux in order to satisfy low inner temperature of the tube and high hydrogen yield at the same time; and providing the external heat flux which successively reduces from an inlet(101) of the tube to an outlet(102) to the tube. The supply pattern control is accomplished through an external combustor which controls dynamics of the external heat flux.

    • PURPOSE: A fuel reformer for vapor reformation is provided to lower hydrogen concentration within a tube by including a hydrogen permeable membrane in the tube and promote hydrogen production reaction according to chemical equilibrium of reactant. CONSTITUTION: A fuel reformer for vapor reformation comprises an active catalyst core layer(110) and an inactive core layer(120) which are arranged in a tube(100) by turns, a membrane(200) which is installed on inner wall of the tube to selectively permeate hydrogen among reactants, and a heat-transfer reinforced material which is placed on the inactive core layer. The membrane is composed of one selected from metal, zeolite, ceramics, and molecular sieve carbon. The membrane is installed only on the inner wall of the tube in which the active catalyst core layer is formed.
