    • An analog-digital conversion circuit is provided not to need to switch input signals for conversion by comparing a plurality of input signals with a reference voltage, and to reduce conversion time without waiting time until the input signals are stabilized. An analog-digital conversion circuit includes a sample and hold unit(10), a digital-analog converter(20), m comparators(401-40256), m data holders(501-50256), a selector(60), and a counter(30). The sample and hold unit(10) supplies m analog input signals to corresponding voltage holding capacitors through switches during a sampling period. The digital-analog converter(20) generates reference voltages increased or reduced according to a digital value during a hold period. The m comparators(401-40256) compare the respective reference voltages with analog voltages from buffer amplifiers. The m data holders(501-50256) hold the digital value when a judgment signal from the comparators(401-40256) is changed. The selector(60) selects the digital signal held by the m data holders(501-50256) according to the digital value. The counter(30) counts from zero to at least (m-1) in synchronization with a clock signal during the sampling period and outputs a count value as the digital value.

CONSTITUTION: An analog-digital convertor for CMOS image device includes a comparator(71), a plurality of output circuits and a controller(73). The comparator(71) receives an analog input signal and a reference signal and compares the analog input signal with the reference signal. The plurality of output circuits generates the digital word for representing a time interval to be defined by the stop signal represented by the start signal and the output shift of the comparator(71). And, the controller(73) deactivates the comparator(71) in response to the stop signal.

    • PURPOSE: An auto zero comparator with improved operation speed is provided to improve an operation velocity thereof by preventing a voltage shift of a latch input terminal. CONSTITUTION: The auto-zero comparator includes the first transistor(M1) for sampling an input signal in response to an input signal(INP), a reference voltage(REF) and the first control signal(Q1). The second transistor(M2) samples the reference voltage in response to the second control signal(Q2). One terminal of the first capacitor(C1) is connected with the common drain of the first and second transistors(Q1,Q2). The third transistor(M6) is connected between the other terminal of the first capacitor(C1) and an input terminal of the first inverter(INV1). The fourth transistor(M3) performs a sampling of offset voltage of the first inverter(INV1). An offset voltage of the first inverter(INV1) is charged in the second capacitor(C2). The fifth transistor(M4) performs a sampling of offset voltage of the second inverter(INV2) in response to a control signal(Q1p). A latch is provided between sixth transistor(M5) and the third capacitor(C3) and amplifies a difference between the input signal and the reference voltage.
