    • PURPOSE: A gasoline direct-injection engine is provided to easily control the volume ratios of an intake valve and an exhaust valve based on a spark plug by making the height difference between a first cavity and a second cavity. CONSTITUTION: A gasoline direct-injection engine comprises a first cavity(501), a protrusion unit(510) and a second cavity(502). The first cavity is formed on the piston head of a piston. The first cavity returns some of fuel sprayed from an injector(300) to the spark plug. The protrusion unit is offset from the first cavity to an exhaust valve(201). The second cavity has a lower height than the first cavity from the protrusion to the exhaust valve. The first cavity is formed in a circle or ellipse shape. The first cavity is offset from the direct lower part of an ignition plug(400) to the intake valve by a given distance.

    • A piston head for gasoline direct Injection engine is provided to increase concentration of mixer in the neighboring of the spark plug. A piston head for gasoline direct Injection engine comprises a bowl which is formed in the upper side of the piston head along the injection direction(A1) of an injector. Seen from a plan view of the piston head, both lateral sides of the bowl form symmetrically circular arc in relation to a central line(L1) passing through the center(C1) of the piston head along the direction of the injector. The bowl comprises a floor side(13a) having an angle(theta1) which becomes gradually profound; and a inner peripheral surface(13b) connecting the upper side of the piston head and floor side.

    • PURPOSE: A combustion chamber structure of a diesel engine is provided to achieve increased strength of vortex at the wall of the combustion chamber, while maintaining a swirl. CONSTITUTION: A piston(1) is arranged in a cylinder which is coupled beneath a cylinder head which has a fuel injection nozzle. A combustion chamber(4) formed in the head portion of the piston has a fim(7) protruded from the center of the combustion chamber so as to generate a swirl flow from the flow of the fuel-air mixture. A re-entrant chamber(6) having a predetermined depth(H') has an entrance region having a center deflected with respect to the center of the combustion chamber. The deflected center of the re-entrant chamber is formed with ribs(6') having different protrusion lengths(K1,K2) at the symmetrical position in the upper portion of the combustion chamber.

    • PURPOSE: A piston is provided to reduce the discharge of exhaust gas by forming a double vortex of the mixture in a combustion chamber of a piston. CONSTITUTION: A W-shaped combustion chamber(3) is formed on an upper face(1a) of a piston(1). Fuel(4) is injected from a fuel injection nozzle(2) toward the outer wall of the combustion chamber in a tilt angle(theta). An inverted V-shaped rib(7) is protruded toward a central line(8) on a wall face. A peak(9) of the rib faces the injection hole of the fuel injection nozzle and is extended toward upper and lower wall faces(6a,6b) with upper and lower curved faces(7a,7b). Some of the fuel injected from the fuel injection nozzle causes vortexes(A) by colliding to the peak of the rib and flowing along the upper curved face. The other fuel forms other vortexes(B) descending along the lower curved face. Therefore, a double vortex is formed and the mixture of fuel and air is improved.
