    • PURPOSE: A plasma display device and a method thereof are provide to the brightness of a black color by reducing the voltage difference between a scan electrode and a sustain electrode when the load of a back color is increased. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrodes are extended side by side. A plurality of pixels respectively has a plurality of discharge cells. A plurality of discharge cells define the first electrode and the second electrode. A driving unit apply a first reset waveform to the first electrode for a reset period. The driving unit apply a second reset waveform to a second electrode for the reset period. A controller controls at least one of the first rest waveform voltage and the second rest waveform voltage.

    • PURPOSE: A plasma display apparatus is provided to remarkably reduce a black brightness by operating a reset discharge operated in a sub discharge cell by a frame. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of scan electrodes(11) and sustain electrodes are formed in the upper plate. A plurality of address electrodes(22) is formed in the lower plate. A plasma display panel comprises a scan electrode, a sustain electrode(12) and an address electrode. A driving part supplies a driving signal to a plurality of electrodes. A discharge cell is formed in a region where a plurality of electrodes crosses. Each discharge cell comprises a plurality of sub discharge cells according to the fluorescent substance within the discharge cell. Each sub discharge cell operates a reset discharge with each frame.
