    • PURPOSE: A method for measuring bone density using an X-ray image is provided to improve the accuracy of bone density measurement by eliminating an X-ray absorbing effect by a soft part included in a bone region. CONSTITUTION: An input/output unit(11) inputs from and outputs to an external user data required to the measurement of bone density. Main/auxiliary memory units(12,13) store all sorts of data required to the process for measuring the bone density by using an X-ray image. A microprocessor(14) controls the main/auxiliary memory units(12,13) and the input/output unit(11) and performs all of calculation process for measuring the bone density by the X-ray image. The input/output unit(11) includes an X-ray film scanner for digitally imaging the X-ray image, a monitor, a printer, and an X-ray film.

    • PURPOSE: A seat embedded apparatus for checking seat occupant and a method thereof are provided to easily and effectively obtain information on occupants motion using conductive wires embedded in seats without external devices. CONSTITUTION: A seat embedded apparatus for checking seat occupant comprises a variable resistance part(100) and a signal analysis part(200). The variable resistance part generates resistance values corresponding to the edges of a seat using conductive wires installed in the seat. Each conductive wire comprises conductive fiber and elastic threads. The signal analysis part analyzes the variation of the resistance values and obtains motion information about one or more among the sitting, sitting position, and sitting position changes of an occupant.

A method for obtaining an image of extracting a phalangeal boundary includes the steps of: setting a target region for extracting the phalangeal boundary from an X-ray image of a hand(S12); obtaining an image by removing a background gray level due to a soft tissue from the target region(S13); and drawing a peripheral boundary image of a phalangeal from the image without the gray level(S14). The step of obtaining the image without the gray level includes the steps of: extracting a peripheral boundary image of a finger in the target region(S131); fitting to interpolate the gray level of the soft tissue of the finger of the peripheral boundary image into a phalangeal region(S132); and subtracting a gray level of the image obtained as a result of the fitting from the gray level of the peripheral boundary image(S133).
