    • An apparatus for reducing snoring and preventing sleep apnea syndrome is provided to reduce snoring by correcting user's sleep posture through pumping air into pad under user's back side, to allow real time measuring of sleep apnea syndrome, and to save traditional time and cost required for measuring them. The apparatus for reducing snoring and preventing sleep apnea syndrome comprises: an air-pad(101) expanded by air-pumping for correcting user's posture; an air tube(102) functioning as a channel for input/output of air; a sensor(103) converting detected breathing to electric signals; an amplifier(104) for amplifying output signals from the sensor(103); a range filtering part to filer the amplified output signal according to multiple ranges and to generate signals for determining snoring; a function input part; a central processing unit(105) generating control signals; a display unit(106) showing user's status such as breathing and heart beating on screen; a driving part(120) driving various driving signals; a motor(131) to drive air-pump; and an exhaust solenoid to regulate the opening of exhaust valve.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to measure a photo-plethysmography by using lights of two different band passes, and diagnose sleep apnea by using the ratio of the measured values. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a light source(10) for generating lights of two different band passes in accordance with a control signal; an optical sensing unit(13) for sensing the lights generated from the light source and radiated to a part of a human body, and converting the sensed lights into electrical signals; a diagnosis unit for substantially removing the time difference of the electrical signals output from the optical sensing unit, calculating ratio of the electrical signals, and diagnosing sleep apnea by comparing the calculated ratio and a reference value; and a control unit(12) for outputting the control signal to the light source so as to generate lights of two different band passes, and providing the reference value to the diagnosis unit.
