    • PURPOSE: A method for improving reflectivity of a mirror side of an optical switch for optical cross connector is provided to prevent the attenuation of signal beam by improving the reflectivity of a side section of a mirror portion. CONSTITUTION: A mirror portion(62) having a scallop formed on a side section(62a) is provided. A high reflective layer(70) is deposited on the side section of the mirror portion in order to bury the scallop. The high reflective layer is recrystallized. In the process for providing the mirror portion, an SOI substrate is formed by depositing sequentially a buried layer and a silicon layer on a substrate. The silicon layer is etched by using a deep-RIE method and the mirror portion is formed thereby. The scallop is formed on the side section of the mirror portion by performing the deep-RIE process.

    • PURPOSE: A microelectromechanical variable optical filter is provided which is fabricated using a silicon micromachining method and is used in a WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical communication system. CONSTITUTION: The variable optical filter includes a fixed mirror(313) formed by a plurality of plates(311) etched vertically, and a moving mirror(314) formed by a plurality of plates etched vertically, and a variable air layer formed between the above moving mirror and the above fixed mirror, and an actuator(321) varying the variable air layer by moving the above moving mirror to and fro. The plates of the fixed mirror and the moving mirror are formed with a silicon, and have a thickness of (2m+1)lambda/4n where n is a refractive index of the silicon and m is 0, 1, 2, etc. A thickness(315) of the variable air layer is (2m+1)lambda/4 where m is 0, 1, 2, etc. An oxide film is formed below the moving mirror layer. The actuator comprises a fixed electrode and a moving electrode, and the fixed electrode and the moving electrode are connected with a leaf spring, and the moving electrode is connected with the moving mirror.

    • PURPOSE: A resonator for wirelessly transmitting and receiving power is provided to minimize the effect of an electromagnetic wave to a human body by lowering the resonant frequency of a resonator used in wireless power transmission and reception. CONSTITUTION: A matching circuit(710) matches impedance between a resonator(700) and an input port(730). The matching circuit comprises a first capacitor(C1) and a second capacitor(C2). The first capacitor is connected between the input port and a resonant coil(750) in series. The second capacitor is connected between the input port and a ground terminal in parallel. The equivalent serial resistance of the first and second capacitors is smaller than the internal resistance of the resonant coil. The resonant coil has a quality factor more than a predetermined value.
