    • PURPOSE: A fuse device and a method for operating the same are provided to reduce power consumption by performing a programming operation after heating a fuse. CONSTITUTION: A fuse device includes a fuse(F1) and a current applying unit. The fuse has a pre-heated area for programming. The fuse includes at least one of metal and silicide. The current applying unit applies a programming current to the fuse and includes a driving device(Tr1) and a power source. The driving device is connected to the fuse. The power source is connected to the driving device with a conductive connection structure. The connection structure includes a conductive plug(P1) and a wire(W1). The height of the fuse is equal to or smaller than the height of the wire.
