    • PURPOSE: Provided are a recombinant cage protein, a method for making the same, a noble metal-recombinant cage protein complex, a method for making the same, and recombinant DNA. In particular, provided is a method for making a noble metal-apoferritin complex by introducing noble metal particles into apoferritin. CONSTITUTION: A noble metal-apoferritin complex, more specifically a gold particle-including apoferritin, is made by the following procedures: using the gene recombinant technique, glutamic acid and aspartic acid each situated at the channel(3) of apoferritin are substituted by serine of small size with no electric charge; next, glutamic acid situated at the holding part(4) is substituted by a basic amino acid such as lysine or a neutral amino acid, and further, at least one cysteine molecule is introduced into the holding part; thereby preventing developing repulsive force due to the electrostatic interaction between (AuCl4 )¬- bearing negative charge and the amino acids bearing negative charge and making the (AuCl4 )¬- are taken into the channel and the holding part; the (AuCl4 )¬- thus taken into the holding part is subsequently reduced into Au.
