    • PURPOSE: A filter for removing particulate matter of diesel vehicles is provided to continuously regenerate particulate matter in exhaust gas released from diesel engines and reduce emission of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and non-burnt hydrocarbon, and a method for preparing the same is provided. CONSTITUTION: The filter comprises an oxidation cocatalyst of upstream prepared by supporting a colloid mixed solution onto first support on which a deposition support is deposited, wherein the colloid mixed solution is prepared by treating platinum group salts and metal salts for reforming activity of platinum group metals of the platinum group salts with water soluble polymer compound and reducing agent; and catalyzed filter of downstream prepared by supporting a colloid mixed solution onto second support on which a deposition support is deposited, wherein the colloid mixed solution is prepared by treating one or more of mixed metal salts and platinum group salts respectively selected from first cocatalyst group for improving catalyst combustion activity of particulate matter and second cocatalyst group for lowering combustion temperature of the particulate matter with water soluble polymer compound and reducing agent.

    • A honeycomb body, in particular a catalyst carrier body, includes a multiplicity of channels through which a fluid can flow. A first group of channels has a higher flow resistance than a second group of channels and the honeycomb body has at least one cross-sectionally asymmetrical accumulation or collection of channels of higher flow resistance covering only part of the cross-sectional area of the honeycomb body in the circumferential direction. The channels of higher flow resistance in particular have smaller hydraulic diameters than the other channels or are provided at inlet and/or the outlet ends and/or in their interiors with additional structures for hindering flow. Honeycomb bodies can thus be produced in which distributions of flow resistances over the cross-sectional area can be defined and matched to flow conditions, which can be particularly advantageous when such a honeycomb is disposed downstream of electrically heatable honeycomb bodies with slits.

    • PURPOSE: To provide an exhaust gas purifying device for an internal combustion engine, having improved inherent function by increasing the capacity of all carriers and eliminating the need for a larger arrangement space. CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas purifying device 1 comprises the carriers 34 arranged in series along the flowing direction of exhaust gas, the upstream carriers 34 being adapted to admit approximate half of exhaust gas passing through a first distribution passage 4, and the downstream carriers 34 being adapted to admit the remaining half of exhaust gas passing through a second distribution passage 5. Thus, the whole capacity of the pair of carriers 34 is approximately doubled, achieving the improved purifying efficiency. The exhaust gas from the distribution passages 4, 5 is combined in a combination chamber 21 and exhausted through one outlet pipe 22. As a result, an increase in cross section of each carrier is suppressed by series arrangement, one outlet pipe 22 helps reducing the size and a smaller arrangement space is required.
