CONSTITUTION: A DSLAM is comprised of a control board(10) and a subscriber board group(40). The control board(10) and the subscriber boards(42a-46a) of the subscriber board group(40) are connected each other by a shared bus(cell bus)(30). Each of the subscriber boards(42a-46a) has a cell bus processing part(42b-46b), processing physical transmission and reception in the shared bus(30), and a plurality of ports. The control board(10) consists of a signal processing part(12), a cell bus processing part(14), an interrupt processing part(16), a message processing part(18), an RS-232C access part(20), and an Ethernet access part(22). The signal processing part(12) processes the loading/unloading and error state signals of the subscriber boards(42a-46a). The cell bus processing part(14) processes physical transmission and reception in the shared bus(30). The interrupt processing part(16) processes messages received from the shared bus(30). The message processing part(18) exchanges configuration information with the subscriber board group(40) and an external terminal. CONSTITUTION: User terminals(101,109) attempt access to the Internet. ADSL modems(102,110) transmit an ADSL signal to a DSLAM(Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer)(104). The DSLAM(104) receives the ADSL signal through a traffic line path(103) and transmits it to an NAS(Network Access Server)(105). The NAS(105) receives DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) packets from user terminals(101,109) and transmits them to a DHCP server(107) through an Internet network(106). The DHCP server(107) stores virtual line information received from the user terminals(101,109), analyzes the DHCP packet received from the NAS(105), and if there is an IP address allocation request, the NAS(105) determines whether it exceeds the number of contracted IP addresses.
