    • PURPOSE: A powder composition for simultaneously coating aluminum and chromium on metal surface and a method for coating the same are provided to obtain pack cementation of aluminum and chromium by freely controlling a composition of aluminum and chromium oxide, and supply economical mixed powder by using oxide powder instead of alloy powder. CONSTITUTION: A powder composition for simultaneously coating aluminum and chromium on metal surface is a mixed powder comprising an aluminum powder, a chromium oxide powder producing chromium by reacting with the aluminum powder, an activator powder activating chromium produced by the reaction and the remaining aluminum, and a filler for preventing condensation thereof. A method for simultaneously coating aluminum and chromium on metal surface comprises the process of putting the mixed powder into a heat resistant container, coating the container with metal, and simultaneously coating chromium and aluminum on the metal by sealing the container or heating the container under the inert gas or hydrogen environment at a temperature of 800 to 1200 deg.C for 1 to 30 hours.

    • A powder metallurgy mixture having of a composition (excepting incidental impurities) of between 55-90% iron-based matrix powder, and between 45-10% hard phase powder, characterised in that the 45-10% of the hard phase has a composition (excepting incidental impurities) of at least 30% Fe, with at least some of each of the following elements, the weight% being chosen from the following ranges such that together with the wt.% Fe, the total is 100%: 1-3% C, 20-35% Cr, 2-22% Co, 2-15% Ni, 8-25% W. A most preferred composition for the mixture, prior to sintering into an article (ideally a valve seat insert), is as follows: 35% hard phase, 65% matrix (excepting incidental impurities), the hard phase component being 2.2% C, 29.1 % Cr, 4.9% Co, 5.3% Ni, 20.2% W with the balance being Fe and allowing less than 2% for one or more machinability aids and solid lubricants, and the matrix component being one of-a high chrome steel powder (e.g. 18% Cr, 12% Ni, 2.5% Mo, balance Fe),-a low alloy steel powder (3% Cu, 1 % C, balance Fe; 3% Cr, 0.5% Mo,-1 % C, balance Fe; 4% Ni, 1.5% Cu, 0.5% Mo, 1 % C, balance Fe; 4% Ni, 2% Cu, 1.4% Mo, 1 % C, balance Fe), or a-tool steel powder (5% Mo, 6% W, 4% Cr, 2% V, 1 % C, balance Fe), or-a low-alloy steel powder as above but which is used in conjunction with a copper infiltration process during sintering. Sintering a mixture such as described provides a reliable, wear resistant article which has a low Molybdenum content and is thus considerably less expensive than conventional sintered materials having similar wear resistance.

    • 본 고안은 헤어 클리퍼 블레이드에 관한 것으로서, 특히 헤어 클리퍼 블레이드의 표면에 높은 경도를 갖는 붕화물 경화층을 얇게 형성시켜 표면의 높은 경도를 부여하며, 그 내부 모재금속에는 비반응층으로 잔류하도록 하여 높은 강도와 인성의 템퍼드 마르텐사이트 조직을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 표면경화처리된 헤어 클리퍼 블레이드에 관한 것이다.
      이를 위하여 본 고안에서는 B4C, KBF4, SiC, 비정질 붕소 등을 반응 원소인 붕소(B)의 공급원으로 하여, 고온에서 붕소(B)와 헤어 클리퍼 블레이드의 표면이 반응하도록 유도되며, 공정 중에서 반응 온도와 시간 등의 조건을 중요 변수로써 제어한다. 그리하여, 헤어 클리퍼 블레이드 표면에 형성되는 고경도 화합물의 두께를 정밀하게 조절하여, 표면경화층으로서 적합하도록 수십 미크론 이내로 붕화물 형성층의 두께가 얻어지도록 한다.
      이렇게 함으로써 기존의 헤어 클리퍼 블레이드 보다 절삭 성능과 내마모성을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 표면경도를 높여 헤어 클리퍼 블레이드의 수명을 연장시킬 수 있다.
