    • PURPOSE: A small grinder using magnetorheological fluid is provided to improve an availability of the grinder because a supporting bar is connected to a spindle of a CNC machining center or a micro machining center. CONSTITUTION: A small grinder using magnetorheological fluid comprises a permanent magnet(20), a cap(40), and a supporting bar(60). The permanent magnet is inserted to a receiving groove(42) of the cap. The supporting bar is joined to an end of the cap. The magnetic field of the permanent magnetic is generated by a rotation to a longitudinal direction. Magnetorheological fluid is flown by the magnetic field of the permanent magnetic, thereby grinding workpieces.

A magnetic abrasive polishing machine for a cutting tool comprises a driving motor(10), a multi-head(12), a vessel(16), and a magnet(14). The driving motor generates a predetermined driving force. The multi-head receives driving force from the driving motor for up/down reciprocating movement while rotating, and is provided with a chuck(12a) for clamping the cutting tool. The container is disposed below the multi-head and charged with a magnetic abrasive(18) mixed with magnetic fluid and abrasive media. The magnet is respectively disposed on opposite sides of the vessel, having a predetermined space therebetween, and forms a magnetic field.

    • The present invention provides a polishing system using an MR fluid. The polishing system comprises: a wheel member vertically arranged into the shape of a disk and rotated by a driving unit; a workpiece support member coupled to a workpiece to support the workpiece so that the workpiece can be arranged close to the horizontal direction of the wheel member and to longitudinally and laterally move the workpiece; a magnetic field supply unit connected to the wheel member to form a magnetic field on the wheel member; an MR fluid supply unit arranged close to the wheel member to supply MR fluid to the surface of the wheel member; and a polishing material supply unit arranged close to the wheel member to supply polishing materials to the surface of the MR fluid. The magnetic field supply unit comprises: an electromagnet core part having an electromagnet; a pair of rotary member cores arranged close to the upper part of the electromagnet core part, facing each other on the wheel member to surround both sides of the wheel member, and receiving the magnetic field of the electromagnet to form the magnetic field on the wheel member; and a rotation unit supporting upward the pair of rotary member cores and rotating the pair of rotary member cores on a vertical shaft perpendicular to a rotary shaft of the wheel member as a rotary shaft. Thus, the present invention can reduce rotary transportation load against the axial rotation by separating the electromagnet core part and the rotary member core parts and can ultraprecisely polish the workpiece, such as a lens, because it enables precise transportation.
