摘要： There is provided a signal transmission device including: a light emission element for outputting a laser beam of intensity corresponding to a given power source current; a power source capable of supplying a power source current of a plurality of current values corresponding to a plurality of values through which a multi-value data makes a transition; and a modulation unit for modulating the current value of the power source current supplied by the power source according to the transition of the multi-value data. A multi-value data light signal is generated from a multi-bit digital value input. The current source has a number of bit current sources corresponding to the bit quantity of the digital value. Each of the bit current sources generates a current corresponding to the bit position of the bit to which the digital value corresponds. The modulation unit has a number of current control switches corresponding to the bit quantity of the digital value for the bit current source. Each of the current control switches may switch whether to supply current generated by the corresponding bit current source to the light emitting element according tot he logical value of the corresponding bit of the digital value.

摘要： A light receiving apparatus receives an optical signal and outputs a data value of digital data transmitted by the optical signal. The light receiving apparatus is provided with a light receiving element which receives the optical signal and outputs a photoelectric current in accordance with the intensity of the optical signal; a current cycle integrator which integrates the photoelectric current that corresponds to the current cycle of the digital data for a prescribed period in the cycle; a previous cycle integrator which integrates the photoelectric current that corresponds to a previous cycle to the current cycle for a period substantially equivalent to a prescribed period in the cycle; and a data value discriminating circuit which outputs a data value in the current cycle of the digital data, based on a difference between a charge quantity integrated by the current cycle integrator and a charge quantity integrated by the previous cycle integrator.
