    • PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of mugwort salt is provided to preserve foods for a long term and to give antibacterial and anti virus effects with using mugwort containing capilline and salt as a preservative. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing mugwort salt uses only mugwort and salt. A scientific name of mugwort is Artemisiae capillaris herba. The mugwort is dried to crush into 200 mesh and 40g of mugwort powder is dissolved in 1L of water. The mugwort liquid is boiled for 3-4 hours to extract. The extract 500ml is mixed with 10kg of purified natural salt and heated to vaporize moisture. The upper part of the mugwort on the ground contains capillene, capilline, cappillone, folic acid, caffeic acid, dimethyl aesculetin and polyphenol. Using mugwort salt as a food preservative prevents the growth of bacteria and virus and lowers salty degree. Adding 1-2% of mugwort salt prevents oxidation and fishy smell of roasting fishes and meat.
