    • PURPOSE: A valve housing is provided to increase the productivity, and to improve stability and performance of a thermostatic valve by inserting an electric cable into the plastic material of the valve housing. CONSTITUTION: A housing for a thermostatic valve(10) has a non-conducting cover(12) featuring a projection into the interior of the valve housing. A thermostatic operating element is mounted on the projection, and operated to control the valve when wax inside the thermostatic operating element is heated. A pair of electrical leads(32) are connected to the exterior power source, and embedded within the cover with extending through the projection and connecting to a heating element within the thermostatic operating element. When electrical current is applied to the heating element through the embedded electrical leads, the wax is heated.

    • PURPOSE: A thermostat valve is provided to improve control mechanics of a thermostat valve. CONSTITUTION: A thermostat valve adapted for a cooling system of a vehicle with an internal combustion engine and a radiator, comprises a valve housing(30), a temperature-sensitive operating element(32) in an operating element housing affixed on the valve housing, and a closure member(36) adjustably movable by the operating element. The valve housing comprises a radiator connection opening(42) for connection to the radiator, an engine connection opening(44) for connection to the engine, and an auxiliary connection opening(46). A radiator coolant flow path is defined between the radiator connection opening and the auxiliary connection opening, and a short circuit coolant flow path is defined between the engine connection opening and the auxiliary connection opening. At a first position of the closure member, fluid connection portion between the radiator connection opening and the operating element is shut off and the engine connection opening is open. At a second position of the closure member, the radiator connection opening is open and the fluid connection port is shut off.
