CONSTITUTION: A speed-sensitive power steering system of a vehicle is composed of a bypass pipe(3) branched from a supply passage(1) for supplying hydraulic pressure to a control valve and communicated with an oil reservoir; a travel wind detecting unit generating linear displacement according to travel wind of the vehicle; and a valve unit regulating the opening degree of the bypass pipe by receiving the linear displacement from the travel wind detecting unit. The travel wind detecting unit has an aerodynamic plate(7) turned and installed to the vehicle body, a detecting pin(9) contacted to the aerodynamic plate and moved linearly by turn of the aerodynamic plate, a cable(15) connected to the detecting pin to transmit linear motion of the detecting pin into relative motion of an inner iron core to the outer cover, and an operating pin(17) installed in the end of the cable and moved linearly to the vehicle body.

The steering force control unit includes first and second coil units(61a,61b) wound with coil receiving current in the opposite direction and first and second friction units(62a,62b) integrally formed with the first and second coil units and closely contacted to an outer diameter of the column shaft to act friction force in supplying electric power.

    • PURPOSE: An SSPS(Speed Sensitive Power Steering) system by using a solenoid valve is provided to drive a vehicle stably by weighting a steering wheel with a bearing sticking to a steering rack with a magnetic bar and the solenoid valve. CONSTITUTION: An SSPS(Speed Sensitive Power Steering) system by using a solenoid valve(100) comprises a magnetic bar(122), a spring(123), a solenoid(121) and a control unit(300). The magnetic bar is embedded to a housing(120) to pressurize a bush(113). The spring is installed to the other side of the magnetic bar to pressurize the magnetic bar to the bush. The solenoid is installed to a closed end of the housing to receive an electric signal from the control unit. The control unit is connected to a speed sensor(200) sensing running speed. Therein, the control unit operates the solenoid by transmitting a signal to the solenoid valve. Thereby, steering force is improved by controlling an operation of a steering rack because the magnetic bar pressurizes the bush only with the spring.

CONSTITUTION: A housing(12) including the closed space is installed in a steering shaft(2), and filled with magneto-rheological fluid(13). Two magnetic coils(14) are mounted in the housing with facing each other. Plural steering regulating blades(21) are installed in the steering shaft in the housing. Steering stability is improved by increasing frictional force of magneto-rheological fluid according to rotational force of the steering shaft, and shear stress is applied to the steering shaft in proportion to vehicle speed. Steering stability is improved by damping abnormal force with flowing magneto-rheological fluid in the housing.

CONSTITUTION: A main control unit controls a steering unit to control the steering of a steering wheel corresponding to a vehicle speed(S20). The main control unit decides the operation of an ABS(Anti-lock Brake System)(S30). If the ABS is not operated, a deceleration of the vehicle is calculated(S40). The vehicle speed, deceleration and ABS operating signals are transmitted to the main control unit by an ABS control unit. The main control unit compares the deceleration to a reference deceleration(S50). If the calculated deceleration is higher than the reference one, the main control unit controls a power steering unit by limiting the increment and decrement of power steering support to a predetermined value(S60).

    • PURPOSE: A flow control device of a power steering and a method thereof are provided to prevent catch-up by increasing flow rate from a pump momentarily in steering suddenly during high-speed traveling, and to stabilize a system by reducing the flow rate of the pump slowly after steering suddenly. CONSTITUTION: A flow regulator improves steering performance by controlling flow from a pump according to vehicle speed proportionally. The vehicle speed and RPM(Revolution Per Minute) of a wheel are detected with a vehicle speed sensor and a wheel RPM sensor(S101). The rpm of the wheel is detected to be more than the critical value(S102), and the flow rate of the oil pump is increased momentarily with operating a solenoid valve in case of the rpm of the wheel to be over the critical value in steering suddenly(S103). The catch-up owing to shortage of output flow is prevented with compensating the flow in steering suddenly. An electronic control unit stabilizes the system by reducing flow slowly after increasing flow(S104). The flow rate is controlled proportionally according to vehicle speed in case of the rpm of the wheel to be less than the critical value(S105).
