    • PURPOSE: A method for increasing extraction yield and ginsenoside contents of a ginseng using puffed rice is provided to increase the extraction yield and active ingredients while preserving a puffed ginseng and minimizing carbonization of the ginseng. CONSTITUTION: A method for increasing extraction yield and ginsenoside contents of a ginseng includes the following steps: cutting the ginseng; controlling the moisture content of the ginseng by adding moisture on the cut ginseng; mixing the ginseng with rice; puffing a mixture in a puffing machine; and cutting a main root of a raw ginseng to a thickness of 0.5 ~ 1.5 cm. In a moisture adjusting step, the cut ginseng is dried with hot wind of 35 ~ 45°C. The weight ratio of the ginseng and the rice is 1 : 1 ~ 1 : 4 respectively.
