    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal receiving device and a receiving method capable of optimizing the degree of amplification of input signals, as well as, attaining stabilized reception processing.
      SOLUTION: The receiving device 1 is provided with an RF amplifying AGC portion 3 for amplifying input signals; a resonance portion 4 for selecting a signal of a requested frequency among signals amplified by the RF amplifying AGC portion 3 and receiving the signal; a digital demodulating portion 10 for demodulating the signal selected by the resonance portion 4, based on digital modulation method; an error-correcting portion 11 for correcting the errors of the signal demodulated by the digital demodulating portion 10; and a resonance control portion 22 for controlling the frequency of the signal selected by the resonance portion 4. The resonance control portion 22 determines the propriety of the receiving condition, according to the error condition of the error-correcting portion 11 and determines the resonance frequency so as to improve the error condition.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving apparatus and broadcast receiving method capable of receiving digital broadcasting and analog broadcasting satisfactorily with one configuration.
      SOLUTION: The broadcast receiving apparatus includes a channel selection section (17) for receiving broadcast signals containing analog broadcasting and digital broadcasting, selecting one of the broadcast signals and outputting the selected broadcast signal; an amplification section (25) for amplifying the selected broadcast signal in accordance with a control signal (IF_AGC); first demodulation sections (33 and 34) for demodulating the amplified broadcast signal; a control section (33-2) for controlling amplification processing of the amplification section so as to be controlled when the selection section selects the analog broadcasting; filter sections (26 and 27) for making an analog sound signal and an analog video signal in the selected broadcast signal from the selection section pass through; a second demodulation section (28) for demodulating a selected broadcast signal passing through the filter sections; and a video and sound processing section (35) for performing video and sound signal processing of the demodulation signal from the first demodulation section when the selection section selects the digital broadcasting and of the demodulation signal from the second demodulation section in the case of selecting the analog broadcasting.
