    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray generator in which the range of irradiation field can be made wider than conventional, without lowering the inspection accuracy.SOLUTION: In an X-ray generator including an X-ray tube 2 having a cylindrical surface 16, and a radiation window 4 facing a part of the cylindrical surface 16 of the X-ray tube 2 via an insulation oil 1, the radiation window 4 has such a shape that the shortest distance to the cylindrical surface 16 of the X-ray tube decreases gradually from central part to the end part. The radiation window 4 may have a shape forming a part of an elliptic having a perpendicular line drawn from the focal point 11 of the X-ray tube 2 to the central part of the radiation window 4 as a long axis, and the thickness of the radiation window 4 decreases gradually from the central part to the end part of the radiation window.
