    • PURPOSE:To drive an engine for a toy or the like by pressurized gas supply without using a strong inertia force and heighten the output of the engine, by opening a gas feed valve just before the top dead center of a piston. CONSTITUTION:A pin insertion hole 12 is provided in a piston 2 in a cylinder 1 so that the hole extends with a prescribed depth from the center of the top of the piston. A pin 9 is inserted into the hole 12 so that the pin can be moved up and down. A flange-shaped spring stopper 13 is integrally provided on the central part of the pin 9. The spring stopper 13 is located in the large-diameter part 12a of the pin insertion hole 12. The pin 9 is protruded to a prescribed height from the top of the piston 2 by a spring 14. The stiffness of the spring 14 is such that it is compressed by the pressure of pressurized gas supplied through a gas feed valve 4 when the top of the piston 2 is moved up and the top of the pin 9 is brought to a position to open the valve 4. As a result, the gas feed valve 4 is opened just before the top dead center to prevent the pressure of the supplied gas from hindering the upward motion of the piston 2.

    • PURPOSE:To improve an exhaust valve in durability, by constituting the exhaust valve with a spring ring adapted to open and close under the sliding movement of piston, in an engine having a piston contained in a cylinder with an intake port defined through a bottom wall and an exhaust port defined through a bottom peripheral wall. CONSTITUTION:Upon a piston 1 reaching a lower dead point (upper limit), an intake valve 6 closes and an exhaust valve 10 has its ring 10a pulled upwardly by the groove 1a of piston 1 not pressing against a spring ring 10c. In consequence, a sealing material 10f provided at a supporting portion 10g is spaced away from an exhaust port 5 and the exhaust port 5 opens. Then, thr piston 1 lowers downwardly from a lower dead point to an upper dead point and the engagement portion 10b of ring 10a comes into engagement with the end 1b of groove, whereupon the ring 10a is pulled downwardly together with the piston 1. Upon the piston 1 reaching its upper dead point, the intake valve 6 opens and the exhaust valve 10 has its supporting portion 10g of ring 10c pushed by the ring 10a, and thereby closing the exhaust port 5.
