    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain both the prevention of the collapse of stream passages by the use of collapse prevention tools and an improvement in joinability of tank sections and a core section.
      SOLUTION: In the production method of a heat exchanger comprising the metallic plate-like core section 11 internally having the stream passages opening to both end surfaces and the metallic tank sections 12 which are disposed at both ends of the core section 11 and are communicated with each stream passage by being joined to the plate surface of the core section 11, the intended joining portions of the members 3 for forming the tank sections are arranged on the plate surfaces at both ends in the core section, and plugs 51 of the first collapse prevention tools 50 which are made of the metals generating clearances with the apertures at a low temperature and having thermal expansion differences to come into tight contact with the apertures during heating for diffusion joining and are coated with joining preventive agents on the external surfaces are inserted into the apertures at both ends of the core section. While the intended joining portions of the members for forming the tank sections are brought into pressure contact in this state with the plate surface of the core section, the portions are heated up to a prescribed temperature, thereby the members for forming the tank sections are diffusion-joined to the plate surface of the core section to form the tank sections at both ends of the core section.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a manufacturing method for a metallic honeycomb, by which the coating thickness of a release agent at the time of diffusion welding can be remarkably made thin, the occurrence of not-segmented cell of honeycomb cores is avoided, pressuring at the time of the diffusion welding can be performed at a low pressure and a low load, an inexpensive large honeycomb core can be manufactured, further a solvent does not dry, does not volatilize, does not vaporize during the coating working of the solvent, and defects such as air bubbles, cracks, damages, etc., do not occur on the coating film of the release agent at the time of drying, volatilizing and vaporizing of the applied solvent. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method for a spread system metallic honeycomb, a release agent 1 to be applied while exposing textures 5 in striation shapes on a base material 2 is constituted by containing ceramics powder whose particle diameter is 5 μm or below, having a contend of 5-60 wt.%, binder and a solvent having a content of 30-94 wt.%. The boiling point of the solvent is 100-300 deg.C, and the solvent is constituted from two kinds or more of mixed solvents with difference boiling points.
