    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a pin for a power transmission chain capable of performing quantitative management of a pin holding state and thereby stabilizing working accuracy and facilitating management.SOLUTION: A holding force determination unit 36 for determining whether or not a pin 14 is held by an appropriate holding force is provided. The holding force determination unit 36 includes a load cell (sensor) 54 provided to an unloading unit 35 and detecting a pull-out force of the pin 14, and a processing unit 55 for outputting a leaf spring replacement signal when the pull-out force of the pin 14 detected by the sensor 54 is less than a prescribed value.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a power transmission chain where the time required for the press-fitting links is reduced, and assembling cost can be reduced, and to provide a press-fitting apparatus used in the method.
      SOLUTION: The press-fitting apparatus 40 is provided with: a disk-shaped pin retaining jig 41 having a required number of pin insertion holes 42 into which the lower end parts of all pins 41 and interpieces 15 can be inserted; and a required number of pin insertion holes 44 into which all the pins 14 and interpieces 15 can be inserted, and is provided with a disk-shaped link pressing jig 43 simultaneously pushing all links lying at the same position in a chain width direction into prescribed positions. A link press-fitting process includes: a link arrangement stage for arranging all the links 11 to come to the same position in a chain width direction at one end part of the pins 14 and the interpieces 15; and a ling pressing stage for simultaneously press-fitting all the links to come to the same position in a chain width direction, and positioning them to the prescribed positions of the pins 14 and the interpieces 15.
