    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reduce a chip area by reducing a circuit scale of a light emitting element driving circuit having a gamma characteristic. SOLUTION: The driving circuit is provided with a first current driving circuit 10 which has a plurality of current sources regulated in the value of the current outputted based on a reference current and a switching circuit for on/off controlling the current paths between the plurality of current sources and current output ends based on the video signal consisting of a plurality of bits and outputs the first output current meeting the video signal, a second current driving circuit 11 which outputs the second output current meeting the video signal, and a reference current source circuit 12 which variably controls the reference current based on the value of the video signal. The current formed by compounding the first and second output currents is outputted as the output current and the amount of the change in the output current corresponding to a change in ILSB of the video signal is varied according to the value of the video signal and the gamma characteristic is subjected to segment linear approximation and further, the luminance over the entire part of a display panel is variably controlled based on the control signal from a panel luminance adjustment circuit 14.
