    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost and space by making a carrier wave source unnecessary in a communication relay technique between a plurality of communication devices.SOLUTION: An optical relay device 1 for relaying communication between an infrared transceiver device and a space transceiver device includes: a first receiver for receiving a signal from the infrared transceiver device; a wavelength filter 12 for branching a signal received by the first receiver; a transmission antenna 13 for transmitting one of signals branching from the wavelength filter 12 to the space transceiver device; an RF receiver 15 for receiving a signal from the space transceiver device; by using the signal received by the RF receiver 15, an optical modulator 16 for modulating the other signal branching from the wavelength filter 12 at a lower speed than the modulation speed performed on the one signal branching from the wavelength filter 12; and a first transmitter for transmitting the signal generated by the optical modulator 16 to the infrared transceiver device.
