    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting a tap of an arc-suppressing reactor wherein earth capacitance is easily and quickly measured in safety and this earth capacitance is utilized.SOLUTION: A zero-phase voltage or zero-phase current in a transmission system (intermediate voltage line 4) whose neutral point is grounded through an optional tap of an arc-suppressing reactor 7 is measured to obtain a zero-phase voltage waveform or a zero-phase current waveform. The frequency of this zero-phase voltage waveform or zero-phase current waveform is analyzed to detect a resonance frequency between the arc-suppressing reactor 7 and the earth capacitance C of the transmission system. The earth capacitance C is determined based on the detected resonance frequency and the self-inductance of the arc-suppressing reactor 7 and further a tap of the arc-suppressing reactor 7 is set based on the earth capacitance C.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution line compensating reactor system in which an optimum amount of reactor can be inserted as much as possible with respect to a distributed reactor grounding method for substation installation by which current flowing through a capacitance of a distribution line is suppressed when a ground failure occurs on the distribution line.
      SOLUTION: A compensating reactor circuit compensating the ground capacity of a distribution line includes a set of ground transformers inserted in a bus line of a substation, a zero-phase current transformer inserted in each distribution line, and a variable compensating reactor which is provided for each distribution line and is capable of manually or automatically varying the amount of a reactor that is grounded through a neutral point of the ground transformers and the zero-phase current transformer on each distribution line.
