摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior metal connector for a flat cable that ensures high contact pressure with the flat cable and resists the flat cable from being pulled out. SOLUTION: In a terminal of FFC 10 a conductive line 11 is exposed. A metal connector 20 comprises an elongated bottom plate 22, and an elongated top plate 23 opened from or closed thereto. The bottom plate 22 has two pairs of engaging protuberances 28, successively arranged from the front end. Both the bottom and top plates 22 and 23 are provided with wave-like portions 25. The top plate 23 has a front projection 30 formed in the front portion, and rear projection 31 formed in the rear portion. If the top plate 23 is closed to the bottom plate 22 with the terminal of FFC 10 arranged in-between, the front projection 30 penetrates the conductive line 11 embedded therein, and the rear projection too, so that high contact pressure is obtained as well as preventing the terminal from being pulled out.

SOLUTION: This pressure-contact terminal is provided with at least one pair of pressure-welding plate parts 22 mutually facing in a lifted state from a bottom plate 16 by bending a pair of side plates which stands from both sides of the bottom plate 16 in the same direction, pressure-welding groove parts 24 which pressure-weld a coated wire 18 formed by coating core wires 19 with an insulative coating part 20, and formed between the pairs of pressure- welding plate parts 22 so as to become mutually narrower along the pressure- welding direction, and projections 31 prominently formed to the pressure-welding plate parts 22 so as to mutually approach close to the vicinities of ends of the pressure-welding groove parts 24 in the pressure-welding direction, and pressed by the core wires 19 pressure-welded into the pressure-welding groove 24. The core wires 19 press the projections 31, thereby the pressure-welding plate parts 22 approach each other, to enlarge the contact load and lessen the contact resistance, and this the coated wire 18 can be held surely.
