摘要： PURPOSE:To maintain a high reliability of decay heat removal even during the lowering of decay heat by changing of minimum limit values of the openings of damper vane of air coolers a plurality of cooling and heat removal loops with stepwise for each loop. CONSTITUTION:In each air cooler 6 of a plurality of decay heat removal loops, damper vanes 12 to 15 are built-in and their opening minimum limit values are set theta1 to thetan and to be theta1>...>thetan. After reactor shutdown, each loop starts decay heat removal operation with the open damper vanes 12 to 15. If time comes to require opening control of the damper vanes, they are altogether fixed to the minimum openings theta1 to thetan. At the loop with opening theta1, the heat removal becomes maximum of all loops leading at first to freezing of the loop and unavailability of heat removal, and the decay heat comes to be removed by the other loops. According to the lowering of the decay heat from then on, the loops with opening theta2 to thetan freezes in turn and the remaining loops continue operation. Therefore, the opening control by operators is not necessary and closure of damper vanes by mistake can be avoided.
