    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact safety device capable of simply performing motor protection and returning operations.SOLUTION: The actuator 10 has: a housing 11 mounted to a base; a driving force generation means 21 for generating a driving force; an action shaft 31 provided to project from the housing 11; and driving force transmission means 24a, 25, 26, 27 for transmitting the driving force generated by the driving force generation means 21 to the action shaft 31. The action shaft 31 linearly moves forward and backward on the same axial line under the driving force. Also, the driving force generation means 21 and the driving force transmission means 24a are connected to each other via clutch mechanisms 23, 24 that can be coupled with and separated from each other. The clutch mechanisms 23, 24 are always under a coupled state by a pressing force of an elastic body and deliver the driving force, while they are under a separation state and block transmission of the driving force when receiving a tensile force from outside against the pressing force of the elastic body.

    • A differential apparatus has a differential casing, a pinion gear, a pair of side gears engaged with the pinion gear, and a cone clutch for limiting a differential movement between the side gears. In this differential apparatus, the cone clutch is constructed by a female side cone portion formed in an inner circumference of the differential casing, and a male side cone portion formed in an outer circumference of the pair of side gears. The female side cone portion is formed in the shape of a tapered face in which a conical generating line is a straight line. The male side cone portion is formed in the shape of a tapered face having a predetermined curvature and a generating line projecting to the female side cone portion. Thus, no sliding portion is offset to a small diameter portion even when thrust applied to the cone clutch is increased, thereby improving durability of the cone clutch.

By means of the frictional resistance generated between the driving-side frictional face 60 and the following-side frictional face 95 which presses each other facially, the rotation of the cultivation axis 53 is transmitted to the other cultivation axis 88.

A leaf spring 19 as a bias means and stoppers 16a, 16b for restraining the clutch 9 and the cam ring 13 from slipping relative to each other exceeding a predetermined value are disposed between the cam ring 13 and the inner race of a bearing 3. Accordingly, even upon rotation the input shaft and the rotary member may be smoothly coupled together, and the stoppers may decrease shocks in the clutch means.
