    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent pressure of compressed air supplied to a diesel engine from an exhaust turbine supercharger from exceeding a prescribed pressure when an electric power demand is decreased. SOLUTION: This exhaust energy collection device includes: an exhaust pipe L2 for communicating an exhaust manifold 7 with a power turbine 4; a gas inlet control valve V5 connected to a middle of the exhaust pipe L2; a bypass pipe 16 connected to the exhaust pipe L2 positioned at the upstream side of the gas inlet control valve V5 and bypassing the power turbine 4; and an exhaust gas bypass control valve V3 connected to a middle of the bypass pipe 16. An orifice 19 is provided in a middle of the bypass pipe 16 for making exhaust gas of the same amount of exhaust gas flowing in the gas inlet control valve V5 when an engine body 2 is operated at high load and the power turbine 4 is in a full load operation state to flow in the exhaust gas bypass control valve V3 when the engine body 2 is operated at high load and the power turbine 4 is stopped.     • PURPOSE: To provide an engine having advantages of both the internal combustion engine and the tubine by combining a turbine and pistons to rotate the turbine by the explosion force.
      CONSTITUTION: A suction valve 9 is opened to introduce the fuel air mixture in a cylinder 2. A wheel 3 closes a combustion chamber 5 as a piston 18 goes into the compression stroke. A sluice valve 8 is pushed open as the mixture pressure increases and the mixture is sent into the combustion chamber 5. When the piston 18 reaches its upper dead point the combustion chamber 5 which has been closed by the wheel 3 is opened to have pressure receiving plates 4 exposed to the explosion force caused by ignition plug 6 just before the combustion chamber opens thereby rotating the wheel 3. The exhaust is discharged from a exhaust port 7 as the wheel 3 turns. This action is repeated alternatively by the left and right pistons to rotate the wheel 3 which is transmitted via a gear 19 and 20 to a crankshaft 17.
