The assembly of the presser-foot 43, the thread guide and the needle 33 can be operated by a cylinder type operation mechanism. The superposed plies of thread comprising warp plies and weft plies are mechanically compacted with the presser foot 43, and the needle 33 is vertically moved to penetrate the thread F in the superposed plies of thread, thereby forming the sheet-like reinforcement without weaving warps and wefts.
