摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion of a tube of multi-tubular heat exchanger, to prolong life of the exchanger and to obtain a ketene, by using a specific multi- tubular heat exchanger, thermally decomposing acetic acid in the presence of a catalyst and cooling the prepared high-temperature decomposition gas. CONSTITUTION:Acetic acid is thermally decomposed in the presence of a catalyst such as triethyl phosphate, etc., at >=700 deg.C at 150-300Torr and the high- temperature decomposition gas containing ammonia is cooled by a multi-tubular heat exchanger equipped with an insertion pipe 2 which has the same material as that of the tube such as SUS-316, etc.,and has about 50-400mm length at the inlet of the tube to give a ketene. A protective pipe is only inserted to the inlet part of the tube of the multi-tubular heat exchanger, exchange of not only the tube of the main body of the heat exchanger but also that of the insertion pipe itself are not required for >=5 years. Even if exchange of the insertion pipe is needed, the pipe can be more readily changed than the tube and cost can be extremely reduced.
