    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of devitrification and to enable the outflow of fused glass having the flow rate and viscosity adequate for molding by enclosing the front end of a pipe with a cylindrical cover opened at its bottom end and disposing a ring burner in proximity to the circumference of the cover. SOLUTION: The fused glass flow 17' controlled in the flow rate and the viscosity is made to flow out of an outflow port 19. At this time, a gaseous mixture composed of oxygen and butane is supplied from gas supply pipes 3a, 3b to the ruing burner 2 to burn the gas and to heat the cover 1 and collar- like members 7a, 7b from multiple directions. The oxygen and the butane are preferably mixed and supplied while the respective flow rates are controlled by a flow meter and a flow rate control valve. Cooling water is supplied from a cooling water supply pipe 5 to a water cooling pipe 4 clearing the burning of the gas and the cooling water is discharged from a cooling water discharge pipe 6 to cool the ring burner 2 by the water cooling pipe 4, by which the backfire by the overheating of the ring burner is prevented.
