    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus that uses two image read sections vertically arranged even in the case of reading an image of a single-sided original, uses the image read section arranged to a lower side of a read path to read an odd number of original pages by carrying the pages in a way of placing the image side facedown, inverting the even number of the original pages until they reach a reading system so as to place the imaged sides faceup, reads the pages by the image read section arranged to the upside of the read path, carries the odd number of succeeding pages carried after the even number of preceding pages by overlapping the succeeding pages on the preceeding pages, and reads the preceeding pages at the same time so as to improve the productivity of reading the one sides. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus includes: two separation means for separating an original one by one each from an original bundle placed on an original placing section; the read path used to read the images of the separated originals; the two read means vertically arranged to the read path to read the images of the originals; and a detection means for detecting the tip of the original at an upstream of the read means. CONSTITUTION:After plate-form substances 1 are laminated on an elevating platform 8, the elevating platform 8 is raised, and the plate-form substances 1a laminated below the given number of the plate-form substances 1 on the topmost side are nipped from both sides by the clamp claw 47 of a clamp means 10 to secure the plate-form substances. The given number of the plate-form substances 1 is pushed out in a take- out direction by the push-out claw 26 of a pushing-out means 9. When the end parts of the given number of the plate-form substances 1 are pushed out in a take-out direction, the stopper 48 of the clamp means 10 is moved backward by a stopper drive means 51. After the end part side of the given number of the plate-form substances 1 is lifted upward by a lift-up means 11, the given number of the plate-form substances 1 is nipped by a pull-out means 12 and pulled out in a take-out direction. This constitution causes reliable take-out of the given number of the plate-form substances.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve vertical and lateral feed by a single cassette by bending rectangular papers by 180 deg. at the main surface to face the longer sides with the shorter sides of the papers almost in parallel, and providing a pressurizing means on the inner side of the paper, and a pair of an upper and a lower supply rollers on the outer side. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of rectangular papers 1 laminated on each other are bent by 180 deg. toward a supply direction F to put the shorter sides AB almost in parallel to the longer sides AC, and they are put between a pressurizing member 4 and a holding member 5. The papers 1 are positioned by bent members 5a, 5b of the holding member 5, and the papers 1 are held by an upper and a lower supply rollers 2, 3 and the pressurizing member 4. For vertical feed, the upper supply roller 2 is rotated for a predetermined number of times in the direction of an arrow, and supplies the first paper 1. The lower supply roller 3 rotates following the paper 1, and after the first paper passes, it stops the next paper for preventing feeding more than two papers together. For lateral feed, the lower supply roller 3 rotates in the direction of an arrow, and the upper supply roller 2 rotates following the papers 1. Both vertical and lateral feed can thus be achieved by a single cassette, and the number of necessary cassettes can be reduced.
