A joining tape 3 precoated with a hot-melt adhesive 4 is attached under a heated roller 6 to the outer surface of both the side edge parts 2a and 2b in an abutted joint. At this time, the hot-melt adhesive 4 of the joining tape 3 is softened, activated and made adherent by the heat of the heated roller 6 and the side edge parts 2a and 2b are thus joined together. By this attachment made under pressure, the softened hot-melt adhesive 4 is forced into the gaps between the abutted side edge parts 2a and 2b and is extruded from both the sides of the joining tape 3, thereby making the step of the joint part smooth.
