The rigid wraparound shell (1) is comprised of flexible sealing walls (2,3) which together define a sealed enclosure (5) having a lower pressure that the ambient pressure, and of a filler material (7) which completely fills the low-pressure sealed enclosure (5). The filler material (7) is rigid when it is inside the low-pressure sealed enclosure (5) and can be flexible when subjected to ambient pressure. This shell structure is particularly useful in making floating and/or sliding devices such as floats, hulls for boats, windsurfing boards sledges, skis, tanks, devices for holding and/or supporting the human body in a natural position or in a predetermined position, such as anti-bedsore mattresses or cushions and surgical mattresses, and devices for holding and/or supporting at least one object in a cavity such as a piece of luggage, container, a vehicle boot or the like.

摘要： PURPOSE: To optimize a density, hydrostatic compression resistance and water absorbing characteristics by forming a hollow macrosphere of a polypropylene having a diameter of 2 to 20 cm and filling glass long fibers of 25 to 50 wt.%. CONSTITUTION: The hollow macrosphere is formed of a polypropylene having a diameter of 2 to 20 cm and filling glass long fibers of 20 to 50 wt.% and a thickness of a wall of 0.5 to 5 mm in combination of two hemispheres manufactured by cast or injection molding, and adhered by using an epoxide, acrylic or neoprene adhesive. As the polypropylene to be used has a flow index of 0.2 to 50 g/10 min, and a length of a glass long fiber is 1 to 10 mm. The buoyancy material is obtained by assembling a thermosetting resin of the hollow macrosphere. The resin is selected from a polybutadiene, polyepoxide, unsaturated polyester, polyurethane or the like. Thus, optimum characteristics such as a density, hydrostatic compression resistance and water absorption are obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a float for reducing the weight of a submerged heavy matter by forming at least one deformable three-dimensional structure, and filling a plurality of hollow bodies containing air in the space situated between these structural members. CONSTITUTION: An element 1 is formed of at least one deformable three- dimensional structural member and a plurality of round and hard hollow bodies containing air filled in the space between these structural members. The structural bodies and the hollow bodies are surrounded by a flexible and impermeable coating film having a stretchability of about 200%. The upper surface of a braided member 2 is coated with an elastomer synthetic resin layer to form an upper surface 1a, and the lower surface of a braided member 3 is coated with an elastomer synthetic resin to form a lower surface 1b. Fine balls 4 of glass containing air are filled in the braided members 2, 3. Thus, a float for reducing a submerged heavy matter can be provided.
