    • PURPOSE:To make modification surely preventable for a purpose of disassembling a speed limiting device by means of a race kit or the like, which is an article on the market, by interposing an open potential detecting circuit between a rotary speed detecting circuit and a misfire thyristor. CONSTITUTION:An ignition device for a motorcycle or the like is provided with a capacitor charging coil 2 of a magnet 1 associated with an engine, CDI ignition unit 3 connected to this coil 2, control part 20 for controlling ignition of this unit 3 and a gear position control part 30 for setting a limited speed of a comparator 26 in accordance with a result of detecting a gear position of a transmission. Here, an open potential detecting circuit 27 is interposed between a rotary speed detecting circuit 25 and a misfire thyristor 16. This detecting circuit 27 is composed of the first function part 27A for outputting a misfire signal, when an engine speed reaches a limit release preventing speed, and the second function part 27B for releasing a misfire signal output function of the first function part 27A when an open potential is detected.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent runaway operation by setting the safety speed common to all change-over positions of a transmission, and generating the misfire of an internal combustion engine when the rotating speed of the internal combustion engine exceeds the limit speed in each change-over position of the transmission after the transmission being switched into a specific change-over position. CONSTITUTION:The change-over position of a transmission is detected by a means 5, and the safety speed of an internal combustion engine set commonly to all change- over positions of the transmission is compared with the rotating speed detected by a means 302. When the rotating speed is less than the safety speed, a first igniting action authorization signal is outputted by a means 305, and further when the rotating speed is less than the limit speed, a second igniting action authorization signal is outputted by a means 306. A means 307 then authorizes an ignition authorization signal to be outputted upon the generation of the first igniting action authorization signal in the state of the connection of the means 5 being unconfirmed by a means 304, and an ignition authorization signal to be outputted upon the generation of the second igniting action authorization signal in the confirmed state. A means 308 further authorizes the supply of an ignition signal to the ignition circuit 1 only for the specified time only when the ignition authorization signal is inputted.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the positive impediment of remodeling performed for the purpose of releasing a speed limiting device by a 'racing kit' or the like on the market by interposing an open potential detecting circuit, provided with three function parts, between a rotation detecting circuit and a misfire thyristor. CONSTITUTION:An ignition device for a motorcycle or the like is provided with a control part 20 for controlling the ignition of a CDI ignition unit 3 connected to a condenser charging coil 2, and a gear position control part 30 for setting the limit rotating speed of a comparator 26 according to the detected result of the gear position of a transmission. In this case, an open potential detecting circuit 27 is interposed between a rotating speed detecting circuit 25 and a misfire thyristor 16. This detecting circuit 27 is formed of a first function part 27A for outputting a misfire signal at the time of engine speed reaching the limit release preventing speed, a second function part 27B for releasing the misfire signal output function of the first function part 27A at the time of detecting the open potential, and a third function part 27C for delaying the output of the misfire signal by the fixed time.
