    • PURPOSE: To prevent noise from being generated and enable to precisely position a platen, by spacing a detent gear and a tip part of a detent lever from each other by a solenoid while a platen is rotated, in a typewriter or the like.
      CONSTITUTION: When rotating the platen 1, an exciting signal is given to a solenoid 13 earlier by a predetermined period of time than an operating signal for a paper-feeding motor 5, whereby the detent lever 10 is rotated clockwise around a shaft 11 against a spring 12 by a pin 14, and the tip 10a of the lever 10 is spaced completely from the detent gear 9, so that the platen 1 is released from the detent. When the motor 5 is stopped after rotating the platen 1 by a predetermined angle, the solenoid 13 is de-energized, so that the lever 10 is again engaged to the detent. Accordingly, since no noise is generated and the detent mechanism is prevented from being abraded, the stopping position of the platen can be precisely set, and the platen can be positioned precisely and accurately.

    • PURPOSE:To permit the drawing-out and back of printing papers without the needs for special operations by a method in which a paper sending toothed wheel is turned as much as one tooth, and then the coupling between the claw of the paper sending lever and the paper sending toothed wheel is released. CONSTITUTION:One end of a paper sending lever 6 is energized by a spring 9 and contacted with a cam 10, and the other end is pivotally fitted with a paper sending claw 5. As printing proceeds, the lift head of the cam is varied and thereby the paper sending lever 6 is rocked in the direction of arrow. In the paper sending process, however, the toothed wheel 1 is turned as much as one tooth by the paper sending claw 5 coupled with the paper sending toothed wheel 1 by a ratchet spring 7. (1, 2, and 3 are detent mechanisms) In the end of the paper sending process, the other end of the paper sending claw 5 comes into contact with a pin 8 and then the sending lever 6 turns further couterclockwise, whereupon the paper sending claw 5 turns clockwise against the force of the spring 7 and separated from the toothed wheel 1 (at the position as shown by one-dot line) and the toothed wheel 1 becomes rotatable in both directions (waiting process).
