    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for almost fully reusing molding sand and water-soluble inorganic salt binder from a water-soluble core, and an apparatus used in this method.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus for reusing the molding sand and the water-soluble inorganic salt binder, includes: a sand dropping device 1 for removing the molding sand by using water pressure from a casting using a water-soluble core with the water-soluble inorganic salt binder covered on the surface of the molding sand grain; a device 2 for injecting the water-soluble inorganic binder water solution to this sand-dropping device from the following solution buffering vessel through a circulating pump; a sand depositing vessel 3 which is arranged below the the sand dropping device and stores the removed molding sand and mixture composed of the water-soluble inorganic salt binder and the water, for depositing the molding sand; a solution buffering vessel 4 which communicates with the upper part of the sand depositing vessel and stores the water-soluble inorganic salt binder aqueous solution separated from the molding sand; and a dehydrating device 5 which communicates with the lower part of this sand depositing vessel, dehydrates slurry composed of the molding sand, the water-soluble inorganic salt binder and the water to a prescribed concentration, and sends kneaded sand into a molding machine.

    • PURPOSE:To execute the efficient reconditioning of molding sand without allowing the sand to be broken by arranging a rotary drum below a sand supplying chute and setting rollers in the rotary drum with a little gap with the inclining peripheral walls at right angles thereto. CONSTITUTION:The rotary drum 5 is arranged below the sand supplying chute 3 and the rollers 14 are set in the rotary drum 5 with a little gap with the inclining peripheral walls 5B at right angles thereto. The rotary drum 5 is rotated by driving a motor 10 and at the time of supplying the used sand into the sand supplying chute 3, the used sand is piled while being pressed to the inside of the inclining peripheral wall 5B by the centrifugal force of the rotary drum 5 and increased in thickness to form the sand layer. The sand layer is held between the inclining peripheral walls 5B and the rollers 14 at the time of coming to the positions of the rollers 14 and receives a large pressurizing force and also, shearing action is generated inside the sand, and the stuck material on the surface is detached and removed and the reconditioning of the sand is achieved. The reconditioned sand overflows a weir 5c and drops to the lower part of a treating vessel and is taken out to the outer part.

    • PURPOSE:To recondition the used casting sand to be one similar to the new casting sand by using a centrifugal friction type casting sand reconditioning equipment and a grinder polishing type casting sand reconditioning equipment as a coarse and fine reconditioning equipment respectively in a combined manner. CONSTITUTION:When the used casting sand is reconditioned, a dry centrifugal friction type casting sand reconditioning equipment 1 as a coarse reconditioning equipment of the casting sand, and successively, a dry grindstone grinding type casting sand reconditioning equipment 11 as a fine reconditioning equipment are used in a combined manner. For example, the used casting sand is continuously reconditioned at the rate of 3t/hour by the centrifugal friction type casting sand reconditioning equipment 1. When the batch finishing reconditioning of this reconditioned sand is executed by the grindstone grinding type casting sand reconditioning equipment for 25 minutes, the increase of SiO2, reduction of acid consumption and reduction of the ignition loss can be obtained. Thus, the baked carbide and the clay layer adhered to the sand grain surface can be ground and separated, and the casting sand in the condition close to the new one can be reconditioned, the projecting part of sand grain is removed, and the grain shape is improved to be round.
