    • PURPOSE: To make it possible to control the rate of removing regeneration heat by adequately arranging a barrier, baffleplate and tubular coil above a catalyst supporting means forming the bed of a fluidized catalyst and providing the respective zones segmented by these members with fluidizing gas introducing means respectively. CONSTITUTION: A regenerator 10 houses a bed 12 having a level L of fluidized catalyst particles having carbonaceous deposits. The catalyst particles are regenerated by the combustion of the carbonaceous deposits by the oxygen-contg. gas, such as air, from a pipeline 14. The oxygen-contg. gas enters the regeneration zone through the orifices or pores of a plate 24 which is the catalyst supporting means. The baffleplate 26 is installed to project perpendicularly upward at the boundary with the poreless area of the plate 24 and the barrier 28 is arranged apart a prescribed spacing from the baffleplate 26. The tubular coil 30 to allow the passing of water is disposed in the space between the barrier 28 and an inside wall A. Aeration steam is introduced from a mattress 38 into the bottom of the space. Part of the steam is sent through a valve 42 to a steam sprayer 27 of the regenerator 10.
