SOLUTION: This method for harvesting peanuts comprises carrying the peanuts 22 dug with a digging device 1 by the use of a carrying device 2 and subsequently leaving the carried peanuts 22 on a field in postures that the foliage portions and bean portions of the peanuts 22 are placed on the lower side and the upper side, respectively. The device for harvesting the peanuts is obtained by integrally or detachably disposing a chute 3 on a machine frame so that the peanuts 22 dug with the digging device 1 are carried with the carrying device 2 and further so that the carried peanuts 22 are guided with the chute 3 and left on the field in the postures that the foliage portions and bean portions of the peanuts 22 are placed on the lower side and the upper side, respectively.
