    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound emission device for forming a realistic sound image that sounds as if the sound is emitted from the image surface of an image device.SOLUTION: A sound signal is divided into a sound signal of a high-frequency component extracted by high-frequency extraction means and a sound signal of a low-frequency component extracted by low-frequency extraction means, and the signals are respectively output. The sound signal extracted by the low-frequency extraction means is delayed by delay processing means by a predetermined time (e.g. 5 ms) and then output. The sound of the low-frequency component is delayed by a predetermined time and then emitted. Thus, the sound of the high-frequency component is emitted earlier than that of the low-frequency component. Then, a listener hears the sound of the high-frequency component earlier than that of the low-frequency component. The human ear perceives the sound of high-frequency component as coming from a position higher than an actual sound source position. When the low-frequency component is delayed and then emitted, the sound image of the high-frequency component becomes clear so as to provide a better sound localization. Consequently, the listener senses that the sound image is placed at a position higher than the actual position of a sound emission device.
