    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-ferrous metal melt pump capable of maintaining high pump efficiency without hindering the movement of a non-ferrous metal melt caused by an electromagnetic force by preventing the generation of an eddy current.
      SOLUTION: The non-ferrous metal melt pump 1 includes: a swirling room body for making the non-ferrous metal melt M flow from an inlet 5 to a swirling room 6, giving a drive force in the swirling room, and making the non-ferrous metal melt M flow out from the swirling room to an outlet 7; and a shifting magnetic field generator 50 arranged outside a bottom surface of the swirling room to give the drive force to the non-ferrous metal melt. In the swirling room body, the inlet and the bottom surface face each other along a first direction, and the outlet is opened to a second direction almost orthogonal to the first direction. The shifting magnetic field generator has a plurality of permanent magnets 56 which generate penetrating magnetic force lines MF penetrating the non-ferrous metal melt in the swirling room approximately to the first direction. Both the flowing direction to the swirling room and the direction of the penetrating magnetic force line are made to be along the first direction.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately regulate the displacement of a movable element by movable providing a pistonlike movable unit in a stationary unit, and moving the movable unit by magnetic fluid attracted by the excitation of a solenoid. CONSTITUTION:An operating device 1 is composed by inserting a magnetic core 3 into one end hole of a cylinderlike stationary unit 2 opened at both ends, and winding a solenoid 4 on the core 3 extending outside from one end opening of the unit 2. One end of a movable table 6 is inserted into the other end hole of the unit 2, and a piston-like movable unit 7 is hermetically movably mounted in the unit 2 via an O-ring 8 at one end. Thus, when the solenoid 4 is energized from a power source, the core 3 is magnetized to attract and flow magnetic fluid 11 in a vessel 12 into a magnetic fluid chamber 13. The unit 7 is affected by the pressing force by the flow of the fluid 11 to move forward into the unit 2, thereby moving the table 6.
