    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an air conditioner from being abnormally driven to enhance reliability of the air conditioner, by detecting a phase condition of a three-phase alternating current power source supplied to the air conditioner. SOLUTION: This phase condition detector is constituted of a phase detecting part 21 for detecting the first, second and third phases of the three-phase alternating current power source, an interruption detecting part 23 for detecting a tailing edge of a pulse signal corresponding to the third phase and for recognizing the generation of interruption by the third phase to generate a count signal, a counter part 22 for counting the pulse signals corresponding to the first and second phases using the third phase as a reference, a reverse phase/open phase detecting part 24 for detecting a "normal connection" condition or "antiphase" condition and for detecting an "open phase" condition based on the counted frequency of the interruption hereinbefore, and a display part 25 for displaying an message for showing the each condition of the "antiphase" condition, the "open phase" condition or the "normal connection" condition.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive control device and a drive control method which can suppress generation of surge voltage when a failure occurs to an inverter for driving a motor and other normal inverters continue driving the motor.SOLUTION: The drive control device includes: inverters 1, 2 connected to a motor 5; variable resistor elements 3, 4 connected between the motor 5 and the inverters 1, 2; current and voltage detecting devices 6,7 connected between the motor 5 and the inverters 1, 2; and a controller 9 which, on the basis of a detection signal from the current and voltage detecting devices 6,7, gradually increases a resistance value of a variable resistor element installed between the motor 5 and the inverter having a failure at the speed of resistance fluctuation so that surge voltage value can be a voltage value in which the variable resistor element and the motor 5 are not damaged, when the failure of the inverter which drives the motor 5 is detected, and drives and controls the motor 5 with the normal inverter other than the inverter having the failure.
